Graphic Translation

This project is divided into three tasks. The first task is to take eight photographs of spaces and translate them into simple graphics. I must then choose objects found in the photographs and creatively translate them using different forms and shapes. The purpose of this is to apply the same design translation as one of the objects into its background space.
For this project, I went to a café in Palm Strip Jumeirah called, Amongst Few. It is an urban cafe that also sells streetwear clothes and accessories. The café/shop has an urban, cozy feel to it by having large tables, a Dj counter, a projector, and a big outdoor space. I chose to focus on photographing spaces that include different kinds of objects. After the photographs, I simplified the eight chosen spaces in black and white.
With the four objects that i have chosen, I experimented and used different concepts for each one. The sneakers were graphically drawn by writing the word, shoes. This gives an illusion of understanding that it is a shoe from seeing drawing and reading the hidden word in the drawing. The 1000 Perfect Figure was translated using lines to look like a puzzle. The cap and the backpack were translated by manipulating with the negative spaces to give the expression of these objects.
For the third step, I chose the translation of the shoes to design the space around it. The glow effect is to give motion and attention to the chosen object.
